  • Snart i Umeå med LILITHs nya performance Game Changer!! Äntligen!! Kom och se!!

    Vi har väntat så länge på att få visa detta verk för en publik. Game Changer är beställt av Bildmuseet i Umeå och arbetats fram under en artist i residency på Inter Arts Center i Malmö. Pga pandemin har allt skjutits fram under 2 år så nu äntligen kan LILITH bjuda in publiken till denna nya performance.

    Välkommen till en septemberhelg med performance i och omkring Bildmuseet. Helgen inleds med en Art Friday och fortsätter under lördag eftermiddag. Som besökare får du uppleva olika sorters performance och kan också delta själv.

    Elin Lundgren och Petter Pettersson (Lilith Performance Studio) framför en interaktiv performance som undersöker följsam grupptillhörighet och rebellisk individualism. Anna-Karin Rasmusson agerar i en vardagrealistisk men skruvad scenografi och Geoff Robinson bjuder in oss till en ljudvandring om Umeälvens potentiella framtid. Josefine Östlund skapar en skulptural installation vid älven tillsammans med en hjulgrävare. Akterna framförs löpande eller upprepas vid flera tillfällen så att du har möjlighet att uppleva dem alla. Under lördagen kan du dessutom lyssna på en rad korta samtal med de medverkande konstnärerna i kaféet.

    Game Changer  – Rebellisk individualism, följsam grupptillhörighet och kollektiv sorgbearbetning undersöks i Game Changer. Aktörer och besökare rör sig i en dunkel klubbmiljö, alla vördnadsfullt iklädda anonymiserande huvor och karnevalliknande fjädrar. Längtan efter intimitet, tröst och utlevelse prövas och bearbetas genom gester, riter och impulser. Det nyproducerade verket upplöser och förskjuter gränserna mellan besökare och aktör då varje besökare väljer hur de deltar.

    LILITH är konstnärerna Elin Lundgren och Petter Pettersson. I performanceverk om gemenskap, grupptillhörighet och utanförskap, bygger de sina verk som levande bilder med absurd humor och ett avklätt, dokumentärt berättande. Grundtonen är allmänmänskliga frågor som kärlek, saknad och sorg. LILITH vill flytta in i betraktarens medvetande som ett brus och drivs av en förhoppning om att förstå vad det handlar om att vara en människa.

    Elin Lundgren (f. 1973) och Petter Pettersson (f. 1972) har arbetat tillsammans med bild- och scenkonst i olika former sedan 1999. 2007 grundade konstnärsduon Lilith Performance Studio – en oberoende arena för praktisk konstnärlig forskning med inriktning på nyproducerade storskaliga konstperformance av inbjudna konstnärer från hela världen.

    Musiken till verket är skapat av Siri Jennefelt. Performancen är producerad i samarbete med Bildmuseet, Norrlandsoperan och Vita kuben och med stöd av Umeå Kommun.

    We have been waiting for this for 2 years. Game Changer is a commission for Bildmuseet and has been developed during a artist in residency at Inter Arts Center for a long time. And now finally we can show it for an audience first in Umea and the the weekend after in Malmö!!

     

    PERFORMANCE WEEKEND

    Welcome to a September weekend of performance in and around Bildmuseet. The weekend starts with an Art Friday and continues on Saturday afternoon. As a visitor, you will experience different varieties of performance and can also participate yourself.

    Elin Lundgren and Petter Pettersson (Lilith Performance Studio) gives an interactive performance that explores compliant group membership and rebellious individualism with a soundscape by Siri Jennefelt.  Anna-Karin Rasmusson performs in an everyday realistic but twisted scenography and Geoff Robinson invites us to a sound walkabout where a potential future of the Ume River will be explored. Josefine Östlund creates a sculptural installation by the river together with a wheel loader.

    The acts are performed continuously or repeated on several occasions so that you can experience them all. On Saturday, you can listen to a series of short talks with the participating artists in the café.

We are so happy and proud of Melati Suryodarmo who will receive the prestigious award the Bonnefanten Award for Contemporary Art (BACA) alongside with the opening of her Solo Exhibition I am a Ghost in My Own House today.

The BACA is the most important international award of the Netherlands for artists from other geo-cultural regions. In 2022, it is being presented for the eleventh time. The focus in this award lies on surprising, under-represented art practices that exceed or lie beyond the geographical and/or cultural boundaries of the dominant Western canon.

Melati has worked with Lilith several times and today at the ceremony at Bonnefanten she will perform Transaction of Hollows a commission and a Lilith production in 2016. We are so happy and proud of Melati.

Melati Suryodarmo (1969, Surakarta, Indonesia) is the eleventh winner of the Bonnefanten Award for Contemporary Art (BACA). We are happy to announce that  Lilith production from 2017, Orient Express by Fab Dafna Maimon is now running in a new version at Kiasma today!

Orient Express Yourself is a participatory performance by Dafna Maimon. The work functions as a food truck where the audience can buy falafel and pay for it by recounting personal experiences of family relations or patriarchal society. The price of a portion varies from 15 to 299 words, depending on questions asked by the salesperson. The conversation between customer and salesperson is transmitted via microphone to other customers, transforming the personal into a commodity. The society forming in the restaurant and its critical space can be empowering, although simultaneously emphasising the commercialisation of the private as one of capitalism’s strategies in the experience and commodity market.

The work is inspired by Orient Express, the first kebab and falafel restaurant in Helsinki, founded by Maimon’s family in the Forum shopping centre in 1985. Orient Express Yourself was first implemented at Lilith Performance Studio in Malmö in 2017.

Dafna Maimon is a Berlin-based artist whose work encompasses a wide range of performance art, participatory events, video works and installations. Maimon’s Indigestibles (2021) was one of the popular works at the Helsinki Biennale last summer. It took the visitor on a journey of discovery into the digestive system.

Konstnärerna Elin Lundgren och Petter Pettersson, bakom Lilith Performance Studio i Malmö söker dig mellan 17-70 år som vill medverka i en performance med titeln Game Changer på Bildmuseet. Har du scenerfarenhet från tex dans, teater eller performance är det absolut en fördel, men inget krav.

Ta chansen att få vara med och lära dig mer om hur en scenkonstprocess går till och själv vara en del av den.

Workshop med audition sker 30:e och 31:a maj på Bildmuseet. Workshopen tar ca 30 minuter och du blir kallad till någon av dem efter anmälan.
