One of the commissioned artists, take a closer look at Björn’s artistic practice!
💥
Elias Björn (b. 1979, Lund, based in Gothenburg) works across various media, with pieces exploring male identity and how we collectively shape and form the individual through stories, genres, and encounters. Themes such as violence, popular culture, hierarchy, loneliness, intimacy, heroism, and failure permeate his examination of what unites and divides us.
He studied at the University of Bergen and earned his MFA degree in 2017. Björn’s work has been shown in numerous exhibitions, including at Oppland Kunstsenter (Lillehammer), Candyland (Stockholm), Konstepidemin (Gothenburg), the Borås International Sculpture Biennial, Galleri Sinne (Helsinki), USF Verftet (Bergen), and Fotogalleriet (Oslo).

💥
At lilith Elias Björn is ppresenting the new performance ‘The Tale of the Frog Who Wanted to Become a Prince’, where three men shape an absurd, intimate chamber play based on an ongoing project that began back in 2011.
In this work, as in his previous ones, Elias Björn uses the body and language as starting points to explore the individual’s relationship to the collective, where identity formation intersects with societal norms.
Performers: Håkan Magnusson, Daniel Mårs, Dragan Samajovic.
