  Lilith Performance Studio was invited to co-curate and participate at Kunstbanken in Hamar’s yearly performance festival.
  Lilith presented new works by the artists Leif Holmstrand, Melati Syryodarmo, Elin Lundgren and Petter Pettersson.

  Leif Holmstrand
  Housework

  Duration 20 min.
  In Housework, Holmstrand wears a black nightgown over his normal men’s clothes, black ladies gloves on his hands and a plastic grocery bag over his head. Leif mixes together ten eggs, dried herbs, black pepper and some water. He places a tie on an iron board and brushes it with the egg and herbal mixture on both sides. With an oven paper on top of the tie he bakes it with an iron. When the tie is ready he gives it away to some one in the audience while signing a phrase from the musical Rocky Horror Picture Show – “Don’t dream it, / be it” repeatedly.

  Leif Holmstrand (b. 1972 lives and works in Malmö, Sweden) belongs to the younger generation’s most interesting artists in Sweden today. With his art he combines traditional handcraft with a fascination for horror and burlesque popular culture. www.leifholmstrand.com

  When the box was opened, the fog disappeared. Alienating the stone … (2009)

  Exergie – Butter Dance explores precise moments of danger and the moments of safety. In red high heels she danced on 15 packages of butter. She was flailing, crashing heavily downwards, and continuously she was being on the verge of standing, slipping and falling on the butter greasy dance floor.

  The work When the box was opened, the fog disappeared. Alienating the least … is part of Suryodarmo’s new series of short poetry reactions. With various objects and sounds Melati creates constellation of fragmentary and poetic images in the space. A disturbing sound elicited by red tape rolls and an electric organ becomes the backdrop of the piece. Suryodarmo moves methodically from object to object, and builds a custom pattern forming small isolated images and feelings.

  Captured in redundant actions, a sort of poetic overcoming Melati Suryodarmo (b. 1969 in Surakarta, Indonesien, lives and works in Braunschweig, Germany) creates powerful images more like epical challenges than to everyday behaviors.   Elin Lundgren & Petter Pettersson
  Komma nära (Come close)

  Participants: Elin Lundgren, Petter Pettersson and Lo Pettersson-Lundgren
  Duration: 6 minutes each time, in 3 hours

  The audience enters a dark room one by one. A small boy-man in black clothes and a hat silently directs the person to a small room of 2 x2 m inside the dark room. The small room is brightly lit, and a wolverine and a wolf are standing inside waiting. Seriously and with great concentration the boy-man stare in to the audience eyes. The two animal figures slowly start to dance closely behind him. Their dance gets more and more intense. No music is heard, only the sound from their dance steps and heavy breathing.

  Elin Lundgren (b. 1973 in Stockholm lives and works in Malmö) and Petter Pettersson (b.1972 in Kristinehamn, Sweden live and work in Malmo.) have worked in different forms of visual- and performing arts since 1999. In works that touches upon alienation, violence and failures Elin and Petter accumulate their pieces like living pictures. An absurd raw humor encounters a bare documentary narration.
